an escape?
I've always heard people say "being chronically on your phone is a means to escape reality". I mean, we've all heard it (or not). But today, I was watching a movie and one character asked the other "why are you always on your phone" and she said "to escape".
It struck me. We're chronically on our phones to a point where it numbs us and we're not able to think about life and what's going on around. But maybe that's not the point of life. To run away from it. What if life was meant to be lived. What if we're supposed to sit with our thoughts and not run away from them or sweep them under the carpet. What if we're meant to be present.
A couple of weeks ago, my pastor said "don't outsource your mind"
Don't send your thoughts away to who knows where. Sit with them, write them down, pray about them and maybe move on from those thoughts that seemed to hold you down. Life was meant to be lived not escaped
A letter to myself
